Belmont Park is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, N.Y. There are two race meetings at Belmont Park in 2012: the 56-day Spring/Summer meeting will be from April 27 to July 15; and the 37-day Fall Championship meeting will be from Sept. 8 to Oct. 28. Belmont Park is the home of the 144th Running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday June 9, 2012.

Operating since 1905, the Staten Island Ferry is one of the oldest continuously operating ferry systems in the United States. The ferries operating on this route are equipped with services such as refreshment points, rest areas and toilets. The journey from one terminal to the other takes about 25 minutes. The ferry is also an alternative to the car as it offers a convenient and reliable way to travel between the two parts of the city without traffic jams. Additionally, the ferry is an important part of New York City's transportation infrastructure and helps reduce congestion on the area's freeways.

The Space Needle is a major landmark of the Pacific Northwest and is the symbol of the U.S. city of Seattle, Washington. Located on the grounds of Seattle Center, it was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators — 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. It is now privately owned. The Space Needle is a tower 184 m (605 feet) high and 42 m (138 feet) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. It is built to withstand winds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude, and has 25 lightning rods on the roof to withstand lightning strikes. Source

The Landing hosts more than 350 events each year including Florida/Georgia Weekend Celebrations, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, New Year’s Eve and Gator Bowl Celebrations, St. Patrick's Day and July 4th. Weekly events include live weekend entertainment in the center courtyard offering a variety of music including classic rock, oldies, contemporary, jazz, and top 40. The Landing also hosts a myriad of events for the community such as charity walks and runs and the Earth Day Ecology Fair. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is host to almost three million visitors a year from across the country and around the world. They come to marvel at the majestic beauty of the Black Hills and to learn about the ideals of democracy and freedom represented by the granite portraits of Washington, Jefferson, T. Roosevelt, and Lincoln. Over the decades, Mount Rushmore has grown in fame as a symbol of America-a symbol of freedom and democracy and a hope for people from all cultures and backgrounds.

If you are a history buff, or have any interest in Americana or industry, you'll surely benefit from a trip to Pioneer Village, south to Minden, Nebraska. Here within 20 acres, are over 50,000 pieces of Americana in 26 buildings. Many of the buildings were plucked from their country settings and restored here. Modern display halls hold selected treasures. Most of the antiques are arranged according to when they were used.

The Dakota Zoo opened its gates on June 3, 1961 on 15 acres of developed land, with 75 mammals and 23 birds, and 40,000 visitors passed through the gates that first year. Today, thanks to the continued support of members, visitors, donors and volunteers, the Dakota Zoo has grown to a 90 acre facility housing 600 animals, birds, reptiles and fish representing 125 species and visited by more than 130,000 people each year.

SeaWorld San Diego is a theme park located in San Diego, California. The park is owned by Busch Entertainment Corporation, a division of Anheuser-Busch.
Journey to Atlantis: Passengers begin their ride by climbing up the conveyor belt in a boat. As the boat nears the top, it enters a tower and pauses. It then retracts its roller coaster wheels, and drops down the first shaft. The passengers also get water poured on their heads as they drop to the plunge pool. The boats then travel by water in a loop-shaped course to the main tower. Inside, the boats enter an elevator, similar to the one in Disney's California Adventure park's The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. It shudders and climbs to the top. The wheels then slide out and the final drops and curves are revealed. The boat travels along the tracks and then return to the station. Source

Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Ministries and the marvelous story of what God is doing through this 19 story cross located on Interstate 40 at Groom, Texas. Construction of the cross frame was done in two shops in Pampa, Texas by more than 100 welders and erected in July of 1995. Truly, all things are possible for those who believe.

Brookfield Zoo is located on 216 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, and is only twelve miles west of downtown Chicago--close to everything, but a world away!
It's easy to find your way around Brookfield Zoo. You'll receive a map when you enter the zoo, but you can plan your day in advance by exploring our interactive map.
