Collegiate School strives to educate each boy to reach his highest level of intellectual, ethical, artistic, and physical development. Brearley’s enrollment (K-12, divided into Lower School, Middle School and Upper School) today consists of about 670 students from throughout the New York metropolitan area who represent a diversity of backgrounds, experiences and points of view. St.Luke’s School is a coeducational Episcopal day school enrolling students of all faiths from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8.

A educadora Berenice Coutinho, seguindo a tradição da Família Bittencourt que fundou inúmeras escolas no Estado do Rio, realizou o seu ideal criando o Curso Bittencourt Côrtes - Jardim de Infância Cantinho da Maravilha há 38 anos, concretizando seu sonho de menina, quando passava férias na Fazenda Maravilha, em Macuco, berço da família Bittencourt. Fundado em 1º de Fevereiro de 1992, com nome de Instituto Educacional Dona Clara, a escola iniciou suas atividades,atendendo alunos do Maternal ao 3º Período. Em 1994, este atendimento foi expandido com a implantação da 1ª etapa do Ensino Fundamental - 1ª a 4ª séries, complementando a oferta deste segmento escolar em Fevereiro de 1999 com a aprovação de turmas de 5ª a 8ª séries, recebendo a escola o nome de Colégio Dona Clara. Em 1972, com as inovações introduzidas pela Lei 5692/71 na Educação Brasileira, foi implantada a reforma de ensino do 1º grau(hoje Ensino Fundamental) sob a direção do sobrinho de D. Marília, Reynaldo Mattoso Cavalcanti. Sob sua orientação a escola passou também por outras transformações.
No ano de 1976, implementou-se a criação do Mattosinho com a finalidade de atender aos alunos da educação infantil. A escola continuava a crescer até que em 1978 foi inaugurada a nova e atual sede, na rua José Bonifácio nº 39.
O Ensino Médio foi implantado em 1985, com a colaboração do Prof. Comte Bittencourt, que meses antes assumira a Direção Administrativa da escola. A partir daí, nossa escola passou a denominar-se Colégio Marília Mattoso.

Dalton Gonçalves, professor de física, autor de vários livros e educador de muitas gerações, vinha observando que, ano a ano, cresciam as dificuldades enfrentadas pelo aluno ao ingressar nas univerdades. Discutiu com sua esposa, professora Lúcia Cantarino Gonçalves e lhe fez a proposta de iniciarem juntos uma escola da Educação Infantil à 8º série, turma a turma, sem pressa.
