Mountain Wings sits at the foot of the Ellenville Mountain site which is considered the "Hang Gliding Capital of the Northeast." It boasts a distance record of 141 miles and a duration record of 11-1/2 hours. Our most frequently used training hill is at the base of the mountain and students can just turn their eyes skyward to catch a glimpse of pilots soaring and anticipate the thrill that they may soon experience. Hang gliding is a sport that is somewhat dependent on weather conditions since gliders must launch and land facing into the wind. Mountain Wings offers two gently sloped bunny hills facing different wind directions so that you will have the best chance of being able to fly if weather conditions safely allow it." |

de la Houssaye's Swamp Tours is owned and operated by Marcus de la Houssaye, a life-long resident of South Louisiana who has extensive real-world experience that has acquainted him with many aspects of Louisiana's swamps and marshlands. Over the course of his lifetime he has learned to appreciate the delicate and precious wilderness ecology of these areas and has worked to impart his knowledge and experience to others; guiding tours in the Cypress Island Swamp, the Atchafalaya Basin, and the Louisiana marshlands for most of the last twenty years. He currently conducts regular tours of Lake Martin and the Cypress Island Swamp, located just east of Lafayette, Louisiana, and occasionally makes himself available for custom tours elsewhere.

Due to airspace restrictions and congested cities in the tri-state area, Middletown is a perfect blend of beauty and convenience. We are only an hour from New York City and much closer to Rockland, Westchester, Yonkers, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan Counties. There are close to 600 favelas in Rio. Mostly placed on former public areas on the hillsides, they are now home to 20% of Rio's population, however they remain a mystery for most people who don't live there. The tour is not only to explain about favelas, but to give you a whole new understanding about different aspects of Brazilian society.
You will go to the favelas of Vila Canoas and Rocinha, the largest one in the country. Picturesque from a distance, once closer they reveal their complex architecture, developing commerce and friendly people. Most Samba Schools participating in the Carnival parade come from favelas. The tour changes their reputation of areas related to violence and poverty only. Don't be shy, you are welcome there, and local people support your visit.
