BBT is a dance school dedicated to providing the highest quality dance education for girls and boys ages 2-19, as well as adults. BBT draws on the rich traditions of Russian ballet. In addition to teaching all students in classical ballet using the Russian Method, we teach them folk & character dance, modern and popular dance, ballroom and Latin dance, staging for the students original and contemporary choreography. Our instructors have graduated from the world's finest ballet schools & colleges and have performed with the most prestigious ballet companies throughout the world.

The launching of a dance company in 2004 and expansion into the beautiful, spacious studios on Prospect Avenue is a longtime goal realized. These seven years of extraordinary growth, since June of 2002, are a testament to Ms. King's dedication to creating an atmosphere that provides a fertile training ground for dancers and a place for teachers/choreographers to present new and original works. Her innovative curriculum embraces traditional to emerging styles, inspiring dancers to strive for both technical excellence and meaningful artistry.

As a small studio Dance Centre was able to provide individual attention to each dancer. Currently with 400 students and 4 teaching rooms, we are still dedicated to each student, both as a dancer and a person.
As diverse as the art of dance itself, our faculty is made up of instructors who specialize in teaching specific forms of dance to specific age groups. Our teachers have danced on Broadway, in movies and in music videos. Their one common philosophy is that teaching the love of dance is as important as teaching the technique of dance.

The foundation of any dance company is its energy and creative artistry. Here at IBC and The Lindt Ballet Theater, companies can be proud of the artistic directorship of Rosemarie Lindt-Piccolo who not only has brought with her experience in working with such legendary performers as Maurice Bejart, Roland Petit and Mathilde Kschessinskaya, but her training with the world famous Madame Nora Kiss forms a link to history's greatest dancers such as Pavlova and Carlotta Brianza. Ms. Lindt-Piccolo has also studied with the great choreographer Kurt Jooss, and has extensively studied various dance forms such as Classical Spanish, Modern Tap, Pas de Deux, and the Rudolf von Laban method of Kinetography.

After a decade of winning numerous awards and successfully teaching dance to students at local dance studio's, after school programs, competitions and auditions, these three young women decided it was time to make their long time dream a reality. Lower Manhattan’s newest home for contemporary dance. DNA is proud to present and promote artistic excellence in dance performance, education and the creation process. DNA’s mission includes professional-level training, opportunities for creation and the latest in dance performance. In DNA’s studios each week, 170 classes are taught, rehearsals are run, workshops are conducted and choreographers create. DNA is a valuable resource for the aspiring, emerging and established artist, who benefit from artistic residencies, studio and administrative office subsidies, commissions and two performance seasons that offer presentations of new dance works, many of them world premieres.

“Gotta Dance” Studio opened its doors on September 15, 2001. Owner, Miss Terri as she is known by her students, starting dancing at the age of 5 and always dreamed, that one day, she would open her own studio. She continued taking dance classes and was also a member of a local community theatre group for many years. There she was able to learn and develop not only her love of dance, but also her love for music, singing and acting. The performing arts has always been a big part of Miss Terri's life.
Mr. Ron & Miss Terri decided the time had come for them to fulfill the life long “Dream” and together they started searching for the perfect place. Their hope was to find a small studio where students could come and learn to love dance & music while having fun in a friendly and safe environment. Capoeira Angola, an ancient martial art of African origin, is one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. Played close to the ground, Capoeira Angola combines fluid, dance-like movements with kicks, head butts, tripping sweeps and the appearance of playfulness or vulnerability. Music is played on traditional instruments to accompany the players, to teach the rhythmic heart of the art, and also to mask its power. In the eyes of the enslavers it appeared to be a joking and playful acrobatic dance, but eventually its power was realized and Capoeira was outlawed. Death was the penalty paid by those caught playing Capoeira during the slavery era. For almost 400 years Capoeira Angola was taught and practiced in secret, and only in the 1930's did this African martial art become legal to teach and practice.

The studios are large, modern, fully mirrored with sprung floors specifically designed for dance. It is here that our students are trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Broadway Theater Dance, Musical Theater and Tap. Registration is on all levels, beginner to professional, children (3 years old) to adults. There is live musical accompaniment for most classes. Our Summer Workshop is an outgrowth of this school.
The American Theater Dance began in 1982 as The American Dancemachine, a professional company and school, whose mission it was to reconstruct, perform and preserve the great dance numbers from Broadway shows. When founder/director Lee Theodore died in 1986, we became The American Theater Dance Workshop.

Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

There is many dance socials being held weekly, bi-weekly or monthly in Manhattan, Queens, New York, New Jersey and generally in the Tri-State area. There are many interesting people to meet and many partners to dance with. All you need to do is get out here. You are invited to join our Dance Club on our quest to dance socially and have fun everywhere where possible. Before going to socials we suggest to learn at least basic steps of few most popular social dances like: Salsa, Merengue, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing and Hustle. You will have more fun and your partners will appreciate it.

The Frank Ohman School of Ballet was founded in 1979 by Frank Ohman, former soloist at New York City Ballet (NYCB) and is one of the few remaining direct links to the teaching of George Balanchine. Currently located in Commack, the school serves as a training ground for promising young dancers and offers aspiring students the opportunity to learn classical ballet in the tradition of George Balanchine. The Frank Ohman School of Ballet will guide your child from first steps to advanced technique, while instilling joy for this timeless art form. The school is a non-competition, non-recital school focusing on proper classical technique.
