Karcher Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in the city of Nampa, Idaho, USA. The mall, which is believed to be the first enclosed shopping mall in Idaho, opened in 1965 and has been redeveloped several times since. Capitola Mall is a shopping mall located in Capitola, California. It is managed and owned by Macerich. The mall sits on the northern edge of the Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz County. Capitola Mall is located on 41st Avenue just off Highway 1 at Capitola Road in Capitola. Capitola Mall opened in 1977, and was renovated and expanded in 1988/89. The site currently occupied by Oak Ridge City Center was selected by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to establish a permanent shopping center in the years following World War II. In 1951 the AEC selected a company headed by Guilford Glazer to build the new shopping center. A shortage of steel resulting from the Korean War delayed construction, but the Downtown Shopping Center opened in 1955. This shopping area was considered a replacement for the former "townsite" area around Jackson Square.
