After years of outstanding success in midtown Manhattan, Buttercup Bake Shop launched a second store on the Upper West Side in 2006. Buttercup's classic American desserts continue to be enjoyed by New Yorkers of all kinds, including Martha Stewart, Al Roker, and Senator Hilary Clinton, amongst others. Jennifer has appeared on The Today Show several times, and Buttercup Bake Shop has been featured on MTV, Fox, CNN and more, as well as in the romantic novel A Match Made on Madison by Dee Davis.

A native of Harlem, New York, a young Raven "Cake Man" Dennis, III, dreamed of going south to grandma's house and soon his dreams were fulfilled. At the age of four, he wanted to do everything he could to stay outside. Striving to be like grandma, Raven grew flowers and vegetables, and made mud pies and mud cakes, while his grandmother baked and cooked family dinners.

Monreale Bakery was named after a small town in Sicily, Italy known for its world famous cathedral, Il Duomo di Monreale. Founder, Matteo DiFiore grew up in Italy and started working for his godfather’s bakery when he was 9 years old. He eventually moved to the U.S. and in 1975, opened his own retail bakery on Knickerbocker Ave. in Brooklyn, NY. With the help of his wife, Maria, who worked the front counter, Matteo built up his bakery business.

With its vintage American desserts and decor, customers often remark that walking into the Bakery is like taking a step back in time. In 2007, the original owner decided to pass her oven mitts to a new family she felt would maintain the integrity of what had become an iconic brand. And so, Steve Abrams, a veteran NYC restaurateur and consultant along with his wife and daughter, took over the Bakery. Since then they have slowly and thoughtfully expanded from one shop to six.
