Fundada há 40 anos em São Paulo, a Ortobom iniciou suas atividades no ramo metalúrgico, fabricando camas, mesas para televisão, etc. Com o passar dos anos a empresa começou a comprar blocos de espuma para a confecção de colchões, que harmoniosamente se casavam com essas camas visando aumentar seu ramo de atividades. Em 1975 foi inaugurada no Rio de Janeiro uma fábrica especializada na fabricação de colchões e desativada a produção de camas, especializando-se exclusivamente na fabricação de colchões. Naquela época os colchões eram confeccionados com algodão desfiado entre outros materiais e vendidos no atacado, pois não existia ainda o sistema de Lojas. A marca Ortobom surgiu da junção da palavra ortopedia (ramo da medicina que cuida da anatomia humana) e da palavra bom; dando a idéia de um colchão que oferece além de conforto, cuidados com a saúde. Devido ao grande esforço despendido em planejamentos estratégicos a longo prazo, a Ortobom soube perfeitamente aproveitar a fase próspera de seu negócio e deixou de ser uma indústria de transformação para ser uma indústria de base; fabricando a própria matéria-prima para confecção de seus produtos.

The history of Karl's is spanning three generations of ownership. In 1920, Simon and Florence Richman opened the doors of Karl's on the premise that the customer deserves unique merchandise and impeccable service. Forty years later, they were succeeded by their son, Alan Richman, who also held this philosophy close to his heart. Alan followed this philosophy so closely that he became known as "Uncle Alan", a trust-worthy individual who tickled a customer's fancy through a series of endearing advertisements.

For the past century, the Bielecky Family has set the standard of handcrafting the finest quality Rattan, Cane and Wicker furniture in America. In 1903, Andrew and Conrad Bielecky, emigrated from Poland to New York and set up a small shop, weaving wicker chairs. In the 1920's Bielecky Brothers were one of the first to align themselves with the emerging interior design profession, creating an eclectic variety of custom made furniture fir individual decorators. During the 1930's and 1940's when wicker was relegated to the back porch, the company survived by maintaining quality in production and finishing. At the "American Home Decorating Show" in 1951. the Bielecky exhibit attracted numerous designers including Billy Baldwin who created an elegant collection of "wrapped cane" furniture for the company. In 1979, Angelo Designs, -functionally as well as physically. At the time, Mr. Donghia found he could adapt and restyle these designs for Ralph Lauren's new home, creating a new line of Rattan furniture for Bielecky.

Custom made furniture is also available if you bring in a sketch of what it is you want. We will then attempt to build it. Moldings are available to add onto anything you may already have.
