Localizado na Rua Oiapoque, 156, na área central da capital mineira, o Shopping Oiapoque é referência em Minas Gerais e, até no Brasil, quando o assunto é centro comercial popular. Graças à iniciativa da Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte de retirar os camelôs das ruas de BH, com o Programa Centro Vivo, o Oiapoque abriga esses empreendedores que agora se tornaram lojistas.
Mais de 30 mil pessoas em dia de grande movimento. Esse é número estimado pela administração de pessoas que transitam no centro comercial. Produtos eletrônicos, informática, jogos, DVDs, fotos, calçados, lanchonetes, restaurantes, moda feminina e masculina e uma infinidade de outros produtos que os mineiros escolheram como o melhor lugar para comprar.
Inaugurado no dia 04 de agosto de 2003, cuja estrutura sediou, no passado, uma antiga fábrica de cerveja, o prédio do Shopping Oiapoque completou 100 anos, em 2007. O local já recebeu, nesses cinco anos de existência, muitos investimentos para atender não só o público, mas os lojistas, clientes e funcionários do centro comercial.
Entre as principais realizações, destaca-se a construção da escada rolante do primeiro para o segundo piso no pátio 1; rampas e elevador para facilitar o acesso das pessoas que não podem usar as escadas; ventiladores no prédio J e um moderno sistema de segurança que conta com vários profissionais uniformizados espalhados por todo Shopping e um circuito de câmeras, instalados em locais estratégicos, para inibir a ação dos criminosos. Além disso, foram reformados as portas dos banheiros e a implantação de máquinas de Banco 24h, na portaria 2, para melhor atender as pessoas que transitam no local.

Flatiron Crossing Mall is a shopping mall owned by Macerich Property Group in Broomfield, Colorado. It has many shops, including Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, Apple, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Aeropostale. It also has a large food court and outdoor shopping center. It has a sandbox and play area for children, and many hang-out spots for teens and young adults. It also includes many kiosks outside of the shops that have a variety of items to buy. The mall includes several water features outside; one a 30 foot natural waterfall and a smaller pond feature outside the food court.
The FlatIron Crossing mall is one of three shopping venues in the FlatIron Improvement District, which operates the free Zip Shopping Shuttle.
