A Faculdade Unida está instalada numa região de elevada concentração de evangélicos. Pesquisa realizada pelo Instituto Superior de Estudos da Religião (ISER) mostra que a Grande Vitória é uma das áreas urbanas com maior concentração de evangélicos no Brasil. Em vista dessa realidade, a Faculdade Unida, através de seu Departamento de Teologia, assume a tarefa de formar Bacharéis para que estes venham a ser agentes de transformação em suas igrejas e em seu contexto social. Deus continue abençoando os planos da Direção da Faculdade Unida, e que o Espírito promova a comunhão e o encorajamento de docentes e estudantes.

A idéia da criação da Universidade de Fortaleza, concebida pelo industrial Edson Queiroz, empresário já estabelecido no ramo da agropecuária, gás, indústria metalúrgica e telecomunicações, deu-se em um contexto de expectativas e apreensão nos idos de 1970, quando o Brasil enfrentava uma das maiores crises no ensino superior devido à reduzida oferta de vagas.
No Ceará o quadro não era diferente: o número de vagas nos poucos cursos universitários era ofertado apenas por duas instituições públicas. A evasão de muitos jovens para outros estados, em busca da complementação de seus estudos, era inevitável, pois nos grandes centros urbanos outras instituições de ensino superior acenavam com acolhida às suas aspirações.

Seleção La Salle: Consiste numa Redação, na mesma data do concurso vestibular, cuja nota final para aprovação deverá ser igual ou superior a 50 e a análise de Histórico Escolar, também com nota final para aprovação igual ou superior a 50, respeitando os seguintes critérios: Português e Literatura = 30 pontos e Objetivas (Matemática, Física, Química, Biologia, História e Geografia) = 20 pontos, perfazendo um total de 100 pontos conforme determina o Regimento Interno da instituição.

A história oficial do ensino das artes no Espírito Santo remonta ao ano de 1909, quando foi criado o Instituto de Belas Artes, que teve existência efêmera, encerrando suas atividades, sobre as quais não existem registros históricos detalhados, no ano de 1916. Outras instituições e indivíduos desenvolveram, isoladamente e sem maiores repercussões, o ensino das Artes: desenho, pintura, instrumentos musicais (principalmente piano e violino).

Oferecer um ensino dinâmico e internalizador de conhecimentos, que propicie a formação de profissionais comprometidos com valores éticos, dotados de habilidades e competências, para intervir na transformação da sociedade.

Fundada em 1948, sob a inspiração da educadora Helena Antipoff, três ações distintas e complementares definiram a vocação da SPERJ: a assistência médico-social, a assistência educacional aos portadores de deficiência e a formação de recursos humanos. Para cuidar do primeiro aspecto, instalou-se um modesto consultório. O segundo aspecto foi atendido com a criação das primeiras classes de alunos, selecionados no consultório, inaugurando-se a Escolinha que deu origem ao atual Centro Experimental Helena Antipoff - CEHA. E, finalmente, para contemplar o último ponto, realizou-se um curso de Orientação Psicopedagógica sobre "O problema da criança excepcional", destinado a formar profissionais para este trabalho, função que hoje é desempenhada pelas Faculdades da Pestalozzi - Escola Superior de Ensino Helena Antipoff - ESEHA.

Atualmente, são oferecidos os cursos de Administração, Arquitetura, Ciência da Computação, Ciências Biológicas (Biomedicina), Ciências Contábeis, Comunicação Social, Direito, Enfermagem, Farmácia, Fisioterapia, Letras, Medicina Veterinária, Nutrição, Serviço Social e Turismo, além dos Cursos Superiores de Tecnologia em Gestão Ambiental, Design de Moda, Gestão Desportiva e de Lazer, Gestão de Turismo e Gestão de Comunicação e Marketing.
