Four Rivers Cultural Center Museum gathers within its walls, the wonders of more than a century of history. The museum exhibits trace the settlement patterns of the Northern Paiutes, Basque, Japanese/Americans, Hispanic, and Euro American immigrants. The visitor's exhibit tour begins with an educational film, designed to provide a historical context to the exhibit gallery.

Founded in 1822, the RIHS is the fourth-oldest historical society in the United States and is Rhode Island’s largest and oldest historical organization. In Providence, the RIHS owns and operates the John Brown House and Museum, a designated National Historic Landmark, built in 1788; the Aldrich House, built in 1822 and used for administration and public programs; and the Library of Rhode Island History, where archival, book and image collections are housed. In Woonsocket the RIHS manages the Museum of Work and Culture, a community museum examining the industrial history of northern Rhode Island and of the workers and settlers, especially French-Canadians, who made it one of the state’s most distinctive areas.

In 2006, the Long Island Museum joined a small group of museums and cultural institutions nationwide in becoming a Smithsonian Affiliate. The Smithsonian Affiliations program allows select organizations to have greater access to its collections and educational resources, sharing, educational initiatives and research efforts.

The Firefighter Museum of Calgary's purpose is to acquire, restore, maintain and protect fire apparatus, pictures, equipment and memorabilia of the Fire Services' past.

The Weitzel Gallery showcases canadian artist Al Nelson Weitzel's unique creations of wildlife, horse and western art.

This mansion was built in 1773 by James Mitchell Varnum, a lawyer who entered the Revolutionary War and served as one of General George Washington's Continental Army Brigadier Generals. Varnum was later Major General in command of the entire Rhode Island Militia. The museum is furnished with period furniture and features many historic artifacts.

A bright light on a dark coast, the National Light Museum in Staten Island is one of the newest contributions to American culture and distinguishes an often overlooked part of maritime development. Guest speakers from the museum explain the significance and development of the lighthouse on the east coast. They also speak of the various stories involving the history of shipping and waterways of the State of New York and the application of lighthouses to the modern day maritime world. In Spring of 2012, the National Lighthouse Museum was given a high honor by playing host to the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Titanic to New York. While the museum itself highlights some of the most unique and important developments for lighthouses and boating from the past, the crown achievement of the National Lighthouse Museum has been the development of in-depth boat tours chronicling the different lighthouses along the New York coast. The boat tour, in cooperation with the museum, establishes the history and importance of lighthouses and how they helped in everything from merchant travel to wartime efforts. The National Lighthouse Museum is a beacon, both literally and figuratively, of America’s growth and heritage.

Malba - Fundación Costantini fue fundado en septiembre de 2001 con el objetivo de coleccionar, preservar, estudiar y difundir el arte latinoamericano desde principios del siglo XX hasta la actualidad. Proyectado en 1998 por la Fundación Eduardo F. Costantini, Malba es una institución privada sin fines de lucro que conserva y exhibe como patrimonio fundacional un conjunto de más de doscientas obras de los principales artistas latinoamericanos modernos y contemporáneos.
Malba funciona simultáneamente como un espacio dinámico y plural de producción de actividades culturales y educativas, entre las que se incluyen ciclos de cine, encuentros con escritores, charlas con artistas, cursos, talleres y debates, visitas guiadas y programas infantiles.

O Arquivo Histórico Judaico de Pernambuco instalou-se, em dezembro de 2001, no Museu Sinagoga Kahal Zur Israel. Responsável pelas ações museológicas do espaço, constituiu-se como uma associação civil de direito privado, sem fins lucrativos, filiado à Federação Israelita de Pernambuco.
É parceiro também das unidades do Museu Judaico do Rio de Janeiro , Arquivo Histórico Judaico Brasileiro em São Paulo, Instituto Histórico Israelita Mineiro em Belo Horizonte-MG , Instituto Marc Chagal em Porto Alegre –RS, entre outros.

Fundado no dia 08 de agosto de 1993, por seu diretor Lauthenay Perdigão, o museu funciona de segunda a sexta-feira, no horário de 9 às 11h30 e 15 às 17h30. Aos sábado, de 09 às 11:30h. O museu foi batizado com o nome de Edvaldo Alves Santa Rosa (Dida), um alagoano que começou jogando no CSA, se transferiu para o Flamengo onde passou doze anos. Dida foi tri-campeão carioca em 1953/54/55. Na decisão do tri-campeonato, no jogo Flamengo 4 x América 1, Dida fez os quatro gols do Flamengo. Deste clássico o museu guarda a camisa usada por Dida, que se encontra no junto com as faixas do tri-campeonato. Dida também jogou na seleção brasileira de 1958, indo para a copa da Suécia como titular. O Museu do Ceará foi a primeira instituição museológica oficial do Estado, criada por decreto em 1932, mas aberto oficialmente ao público em janeiro de 1933, com a denominação de Museu Histórico do Ceará. Inicialmente foi concebido como uma das dependências do Arquivo Público, situado na rua 24 de Maio, nº 238, no centro de Fortaleza. No início de 1934, o Arquivo e o Museu foram transferidos para a Avenida Alberto Nepomuceno, nº 332, em frente à Praça da Sé. Hoje esses edifícios já não existem mais. Sua principal missão é promover a reflexão crítica sobre a História do Ceará por meio de programas integrados de pesquisas museológicas, exposições, cursos, publicações e práticas pedagógicas.

O Museu Aeroespacial foi inaugurado em 18 de outubro de 1976. A importância dessa criação deve-se à necessidade de preservação e divulgação do material aeronáutico e documentos históricos para as futuras gerações. Situado no Campo dos Afonsos, "Berço da Aviação Militar", atualmente o Museu Aeroespacial integra o Campus da Universidade da Força Aérea – UNIFA. O Museu Aeroespacial recebe, em média, 10.000 mil visitantes por ano, com tipologia e faixa etária variadas. Desde o estudante que vem só ou em grupos escolares, até o mais aficionado pesquisador sobre o assunto, são freqüentadores assíduos do Museu, com objetivos diferentes, mas sempre com grande interesse, já que aviação desperta ao público em geral, uma grande atração.

O Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo (lO-USP) foi fundado em 1946, como Instituto Paulista de Oceanografia. Em 1951, mudou para seu nome atual quando foi incorporado à USP. Na época de fundação, os objetivos de seus idealizadores apontavam para a necessidade de uma instituição que fornecesse bases científicas à pesca e, numa concepção mais ampla, à exploração de todos os recursos disponíveis ao longo do litoral paulista.

O Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia é uma instituição estadual e está ligado à Secult - Secretaria de Cultura da Bahia e ao Ipac – Instituto do Patrimônio Artístico e Cultural do Estado, autarquia vinculada à Secult e gestora dos museus estaduais baianos, cuja finalidade é preservar os bens culturais do Estado e colaborar na formulação de políticas educacionais de cunho patrimonial, através da pesquisa, documentação, restauração e difusão da produção técnica e científica necessária a essa preservação.

O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
