    Museu do Ceará, South America

O Museu do Ceará foi a primeira instituição museológica oficial do Estado, criada por decreto em 1932, mas aberto oficialmente ao público em janeiro de 1933, com a denominação de Museu Histórico do Ceará. Inicialmente foi concebido como uma das dependências do Arquivo Público, situado na rua 24 de Maio, nº 238, no centro de Fortaleza. No início de 1934, o Arquivo e o Museu foram transferidos para a Avenida Alberto Nepomuceno, nº 332, em frente à Praça da Sé. Hoje esses edifícios já não existem mais. Sua principal missão é promover a reflexão crítica sobre a História do Ceará por meio de programas integrados de pesquisas museológicas, exposições, cursos, publicações e práticas pedagógicas.

O ano de 2006 celebra o cinquentenário do governo daquele que foi considerado "O Brasileiro do Século", o presidente Juscelino Kubitschek. No dia 31 de maio, no Salão Nobre do Palácio do Catete, personalidades e instituições foram homenageadas com a condecoração Cruz do Mérito Empreendedor Juscelino Kubitschek pelo Centro de Integração Cultural e Empresarial de São Paulo, inclusive o Museu da República, junto a Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Fernanda Montenegro, Silvio Santos e outros.

With hangars built and designed during World War II, filled with operational warplanes from that historic era and staffed with volunteers in authentic period flight gear, the American Airpower Museum brings to cost effective life powerful images from another era.
It's squadron of flight ready aircraft include a B-17 Flying Fortress in the markings of the famous Memphis Belle, a twin engine Mitchell bomber, the famous P-40 Warhawk, with its tiger mouth markings and more. The museum also offers a control tower retrofitted to the 1940's, a hangar whose design is reminiscent of Pearl Harbor on the eve of war and access to a fleet of vintage automobiles and trucks that add to the ambiance of this vivid chapter of American history.
The museum sits five minutes south of the Long Island Expressway at Republic Airport, which is a state owned general aviation airport. It is minutes from the Farmingdale Long Island Railroad station. And because of its airport location it is the only historic aircraft collection in the region that can regularly return to the air, demonstrating the power and stunning beauty of aircraft designed for war.

Campbell-Christie House is a sandstone center-hall 4 room house with a full cellar and full garret/attic capped with a gambrel roof. The house was moved from New Milford to River Edge in 1977 onto Bergen County HIstorical Society land. The house is opened for special events by the Bergen County Historical Society (BCHS).

Construído em 1872 por Bento Joaquim Alves Pereira, rico português residente no Rio de Janeiro, o Palacete Bartholdy ou Solar do Jambeiro é um notável exemplar da arquitetura residencial urbana burguesa, em meados do século XIX. Em meio à bela chácara arborizada, ergue-se o amplo sobrado, revestido de autênticos azulejos de padrão, típicos das construções portuguesas.

O museu foi a residência do fundador da República brasileira, Benjamin Constant, adquirido pelo patrimônio público logo após o seu falecimento, em 1891. Está localizado em uma área verde de 10.500m², no bairro de Santa Teresa. Possui uma exposição permanente de objetos, obras de arte e mobiliário que recriam o modo de vida do final do Século XIX e início do Século XX, época em que viveu Benjamin Constant.

A Igreja sempre se utilizou da arte como forma de anúncio da Palavra de Deus. Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. Boa parte das peças do museu são provenientes do período Barroco, período este, caracterizado pelo excesso na ornamentação e pela exuberância das formas

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. Primeiro monumento construído especialmente para preservar a memória da Independência do Brasil, o Museu Paulista, inaugurado em 7 de setembro de 1895, foi criado como Museu de Ciências Naturais. Em 1819 retomou sua vocação original e é hoje um museu histórico. Também é conhecido como Museu do Ipiranga. Seu acervo, com cerca de 100 mil peças, é constituído por obras de arte, mobiliário, trajes e utensílios que pertenceram a personalidades da história brasileira, como os bandeirantes e os imperadores. As instalações abrigam uma biblioteca com 100 mil volumes e um Centro de Documentação Histórica, com 40 mil manuscritos.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
