Museum Village was the vision of Roscoe William Smith, an electrical engineer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and collector who contributed to his native Orange County in many ways during his 99 years. Roscoe made his fortune as founder of the Orange and Rockland electric company in 1905. The wealth he generated from his successful company and investments allowed him to give back to the community in many ways. Probably Mr. Smith's most cherished gift to the local community was Museum Village of Old Smith's Clove. Mr. Smith was passionate about American history and was an avid collector of Americana. His collection varied widely, from textiles and porcelain items to horse-drawn carriages. His main interest, was in craft tools and mechanical devices: their invention, adaptation and development which he realized were slowly disappearing.

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in downtown Austin, Texas, tells the “Story of Texas” with three floors of interactive exhibits, the special effects show, The Star of Destiny, in the Texas Spirit Theater, and Austin's only IMAX Theatre, featuring the signature large-format film, Texas: The Big Picture. A 35-foot-tall bronze Lone Star sculpture greets visitors in front of the Museum, and a colorful terrazzo floor in the Museum’s rotunda features a campfire scene with enduring themes from Texas’ past. The Museum also has a Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and a Museum Store with something for the Texan in everyone.

Also known as The Fort Schuyler Museum, this Bronx museum is housed on the campus at SUNY (State University of New York). Visitors enter through the Fort’s sally port, a tiny door that leads you back into maritime history. Once you step through this time portal, you can almost hear the wind in the sails, with a few “Aye Aye Captain” hollers thrown in. This museum is filled with one of the largest collections of maritime materials. The chronologically displayed exhibits provide a great experience of the history of the maritime industry. The underwater exhibit is filled with artifacts recovered from sunken ships around New York. On the second deck, you will find a bounty of art, paintings and artifacts from the early days of sea travel to the most recent merchant marine. O Ministério Público do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul chamou a si a tarefa de restauração do prédio do Palácio Provisório que começou a ser construído em 1857, na esquina da Praça da Matriz com a Rua Jerônimo Coelho, em Porto Alegre. Atualmente é considerado parte significativa do patrimônio histórico gaúcho, tendo sido tombado pelos poderes competentes. O edifício abrigou a Diretoria de Obras Públicas da Província, a Repartição dos Telégrafos e o antigo Comando das Armas da Província de São Pedro . Entre 1896 e 1921 foi provisoriamente sede do Governo sul-rio-grandense, já que o Palácio Piratini encontrava-se em construção.Após 1921, foi ocupado pela Secretaria de Saúde até início da década de 1960. Entre 1963 e 1998 funcionaram orgãos da Justiça como Escola Superior de Magistratura e Varas de Família. A partir de 1998, passou a integrar o patrimônio do Ministério Pùblico. O prédio foi adaptado para receber as instalações do Memorial do Ministério Público e o Gabinete do Procurador Geral de Justiça. As atividades da nova instituição começaram com a implantação de um projeto de memória institucional. A Procuradoria Geral de Justiça investiu na instalação de um centro de documentação e memória oral, a partir do qual são realizadas pesquisas históricas, publicações e exposições. O Memorial promove também seminários tematizando a trajetória e as perspectivas do Ministério Público no Rio Grande do Sul e no Brasil. O Memorial do Ministério Público ainda desenvolve projetos junto à comunidade, que reforçando e esclarecendo os mecanismos disponíveis para o exercício da cidadania. Com a implantação do Memorial do Ministério Público, o Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul contribui para a preservação do patrimônio cultural, recupera a memória institucional, investindo na formação de um novo campo historiográfico, e, sobretudo, oferece à população uma instituição cultural dinâmica, cujas atividades deverão concorrer para o aperfeiçoamento da nossa cidadania e para o reforço das nossas instituições democráticas.

Durante os 15 anos do primeiro governo de Getúlio Vargas, o Rio de Janeiro passou por profundas reformas urbanas e arquitetônicas. Entre 1920 e 1940, a cidade ganhou mais 600 mil habitantes. No campo da arquitetura, foram construídos novos prédios para os Ministérios da Guerra, da Fazenda e Educação e Saúde. A antiga sede do Ministério da Fazenda no Rio de Janeiro funcionava em um velho casarão, quase em ruínas, localizado na Av. Passos. Em julho de 1934 foi autorizada a construção de um edifício-sede, centralizando todas as repartições do Ministério da Fazenda e Tribunal de Contas, na antiga capital brasileira. O local escolhido foi a Esplanadado Castelo. O lançamento da pedra fundamental ocorreu em 3 de outubro de 1938, data escolhida em comemoração ao 8º aniversário da Revolução de1930. O ato foi presidido pelo então presidente da República Getúlio Vargas. Em novembro de 1943 foi inaugurada a nova sede do Ministério da Fazenda de estilo neo-clássico.

O ano de 2006 celebra o cinquentenário do governo daquele que foi considerado "O Brasileiro do Século", o presidente Juscelino Kubitschek. No dia 31 de maio, no Salão Nobre do Palácio do Catete, personalidades e instituições foram homenageadas com a condecoração Cruz do Mérito Empreendedor Juscelino Kubitschek pelo Centro de Integração Cultural e Empresarial de São Paulo, inclusive o Museu da República, junto a Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Fernanda Montenegro, Silvio Santos e outros.

Em 1556, o Pe.Afonso Brás finalizou a construção em taipa da primeira Igreja dos jesuítas em São Paulo, anexa às dependências do Colégio.
Prejudicada por 13 anos de ausência forçada dos padres da Cia. de Jesus, que foram expulsos da vila, foi reconstruída e ampliada a partir de 1667, que teve como padroeiro o Senhor Bom Jesus.

O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes. Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

Projetado pelo arquiteto Oscar Niemeyer, o Museu, construído no Mirante da Boa Viagem, local privilegiado que se debruça sobre as águas da Baía de Guanabara e leva o olhar do visitante até o outro lado, onde estão o Corcovado e o Pão de Açúcar. Niemeyer afirmava que ao visitar o local "imaginou o museu como qualquer coisa solta na paisagem, um pássaro branco a se lançar sobre o céu e o mar de Niterói"; o que quer dizer um supremo respeito à paisagem. O Museu do Ceará foi a primeira instituição museológica oficial do Estado, criada por decreto em 1932, mas aberto oficialmente ao público em janeiro de 1933, com a denominação de Museu Histórico do Ceará. Inicialmente foi concebido como uma das dependências do Arquivo Público, situado na rua 24 de Maio, nº 238, no centro de Fortaleza. No início de 1934, o Arquivo e o Museu foram transferidos para a Avenida Alberto Nepomuceno, nº 332, em frente à Praça da Sé. Hoje esses edifícios já não existem mais. Sua principal missão é promover a reflexão crítica sobre a História do Ceará por meio de programas integrados de pesquisas museológicas, exposições, cursos, publicações e práticas pedagógicas.

Ali viveu Francisco José de Oliveira Viana, um dos maiores nomes da sociologia nacional, nascido em 1883 e falecido em 1951. Sua biblioteca, especializada em sociologia, história, política e economia, consta de 15 mil obras que servem de material de consulta.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
