Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. Primeiro monumento construído especialmente para preservar a memória da Independência do Brasil, o Museu Paulista, inaugurado em 7 de setembro de 1895, foi criado como Museu de Ciências Naturais. Em 1819 retomou sua vocação original e é hoje um museu histórico. Também é conhecido como Museu do Ipiranga. Seu acervo, com cerca de 100 mil peças, é constituído por obras de arte, mobiliário, trajes e utensílios que pertenceram a personalidades da história brasileira, como os bandeirantes e os imperadores. As instalações abrigam uma biblioteca com 100 mil volumes e um Centro de Documentação Histórica, com 40 mil manuscritos.

The Museum, located at 38 Priest Lake Museum Road, just north of the junction of Luby Bay Road with West Lakeshore Road, is operated totally by volunteers. It is scheduled to be open 10AM to 4PM on Memorial Day weekend, then daily starting the follwing Sataurday through Labor Day. The Museum is closed Mondays except for holiday Mondays.
The Priest Lake Museum Association was formed by a handful of volunteers to provide visitors and residents with an awareness of the area's rich past. The Association was formed in 1979, incorporated in 1980 and received its 501c3 tax-exempt status in 1981. The Museum opened its doors to the public in 1990. George Bellows (1882–1925) was regarded as one of America's greatest artists when he died, at the age of forty-two, from a ruptured appendix. Bellows's early fame rested on his powerful depictions of boxing matches and gritty scenes of New York City's tenement life, but he also painted cityscapes, seascapes, war scenes, and portraits, and made illustrations and lithographs that addressed many of the social, political, and cultural issues of the day. Featuring some one hundred works from Bellows's extensive oeuvre, this landmark loan exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of the artist's career in nearly half a century. It invites the viewer to experience the dynamic and challenging decades of the early twentieth century through the eyes of a brilliant observer.

From its founding, the Seabee Museum and Memorial Park has stood on its own, collecting grants from federal, public, and private sectors. The majority of funding received to date has been from the MCB-6 Association, other Seabees, the Rhode Island State Preservation and Historical Society, the Federal HUD Office, and a Federal Grant from the Department of Defense (allowing Seabee Reserves to perform a full summer training program here). While this may sound significant, it’s only a small percentage of the bricks and mortar required to complete this tribute to the "Original Home of the Seabees."

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center is the nation's premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. We collect, restore and display historic aircraft and chronicle the origin and development of rotary wing aircraft. O Ministério Público do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul chamou a si a tarefa de restauração do prédio do Palácio Provisório que começou a ser construído em 1857, na esquina da Praça da Matriz com a Rua Jerônimo Coelho, em Porto Alegre. Atualmente é considerado parte significativa do patrimônio histórico gaúcho, tendo sido tombado pelos poderes competentes. O edifício abrigou a Diretoria de Obras Públicas da Província, a Repartição dos Telégrafos e o antigo Comando das Armas da Província de São Pedro . Entre 1896 e 1921 foi provisoriamente sede do Governo sul-rio-grandense, já que o Palácio Piratini encontrava-se em construção.Após 1921, foi ocupado pela Secretaria de Saúde até início da década de 1960. Entre 1963 e 1998 funcionaram orgãos da Justiça como Escola Superior de Magistratura e Varas de Família. A partir de 1998, passou a integrar o patrimônio do Ministério Pùblico. O prédio foi adaptado para receber as instalações do Memorial do Ministério Público e o Gabinete do Procurador Geral de Justiça. As atividades da nova instituição começaram com a implantação de um projeto de memória institucional. A Procuradoria Geral de Justiça investiu na instalação de um centro de documentação e memória oral, a partir do qual são realizadas pesquisas históricas, publicações e exposições. O Memorial promove também seminários tematizando a trajetória e as perspectivas do Ministério Público no Rio Grande do Sul e no Brasil. O Memorial do Ministério Público ainda desenvolve projetos junto à comunidade, que reforçando e esclarecendo os mecanismos disponíveis para o exercício da cidadania. Com a implantação do Memorial do Ministério Público, o Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul contribui para a preservação do patrimônio cultural, recupera a memória institucional, investindo na formação de um novo campo historiográfico, e, sobretudo, oferece à população uma instituição cultural dinâmica, cujas atividades deverão concorrer para o aperfeiçoamento da nossa cidadania e para o reforço das nossas instituições democráticas.

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O CCBB oferece ao público uma programação cultural que é referência no Rio de Janeiro e no Brasil. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. O ano de 2006 celebra o cinquentenário do governo daquele que foi considerado "O Brasileiro do Século", o presidente Juscelino Kubitschek. No dia 31 de maio, no Salão Nobre do Palácio do Catete, personalidades e instituições foram homenageadas com a condecoração Cruz do Mérito Empreendedor Juscelino Kubitschek pelo Centro de Integração Cultural e Empresarial de São Paulo, inclusive o Museu da República, junto a Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Fernanda Montenegro, Silvio Santos e outros.

Considerado, ainda em vida, o maior compositor das Américas, Heitor Villa-Lobos compôs cerca de 1.000 obras e sua importância reside, entre outros aspectos, no fato de ter reformulado o conceito de nacionalismo musical, tornando-se seu maior expoente. Foi, também, através de Villa-Lobos que a música brasileira se fez representar em outros países, culminando por se universalizar.

Construído em 1914, com o objetivo de reforçar a defesa da Baía de Guanabara, o Forte de Copacabana oferece aos seus visitantes muitas curiosidades e atrações. No Museu Histórico do Exército, fatos marcantes estão registrados através de exposições, exibições de vídeo, maquetes e, até, um setor interativo, original e bastante visitado pelos freqüentadores do Forte. Museu Histórico Nacional, criado em 1922, é um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil, reunindo um acervo de mais de 287.000 itens, entre os quais a maior coleção de numismática da América Latina.
O conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu desenvolveu-se a partir do Forte de Santiago, na Ponta do Calabouço, um dos pontos estratégicos para a defesa da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
Visando recuperar a arquitetura original, ampliar espaços destinados ao público, aprimorar os serviços oferecidos aos visitantes, democratizar o acesso dos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade e viabilizar uma circulação e um percurso adequados ao discurso museográfico, o conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu passou, entre 2003 e 2006, por importantes obras de restauração e modernização.

O Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu tem como objetivo principal o desenvolvimento de um programa educativo-cultural voltado para as escolas e a comunidade local, através da divulgação de material arqueológico pré-histórico. Seu acervo é composto por objetos testemunhos dos povos que viveram na região antes de 1500 e traduzem elementos de sua cultura material. São machados de pedra, pontas de ossos, lascas de quartzo com variadas funções, polidores, peças cerâmicas e conchas provenientes dos sítios arqueológicos do litoral fluminense. Boa parte dessa coleção - 966 peças - foi doada ao Museu pelo antigo Agente Federal de Fiscalização de Pesca e arqueológico amador Hildo de Mello Ribeiro, que viveu em Itaipu por cerca de 20 anos.

Detentor de expressivo acervo da memória audiovisual do Estado, o Museu da Imagem e do Som do Ceará (MIS-CE), criado e implementado pela Secretaria da Cultura (Secult), desenvolve uma diversidade de atividades museológicas: ensino, pesquisa, antropologia cultural, cultura popular e expressões audiovisuais. Além do acervo disponibilizado ao usuário, o MIS possui biblioteca especializada (em fase de reorganização), sala de projeção multimídia e espaços expositivos.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
