BDDW builds each piece by hand, one at a time, in their Williamsburg Brooklyn studio. Tyler Hays, a painter and sculptor, is the company founder and head designer. Joshua Vogel, an architect and gifted craftsman, oversees the Brooklyn workshop. BDDW is known for their heirloom quality solid wood furniture, traditionally joined, in select domestic hardwoods. Their finishes are all hand rubbed with natural oils and lacquers.
In beds, tables, seating, lamps and storage, BDDW has created dozens of classics and is constantly producing new and innovative work.

A Costa Rica procurou então um dos maiores fabricantes de colchões do Brasil, a “Ortobom” e, com isso a empresa se tornou parceira e revendedora autorizada de seus produtos. Posteriormente, firmou novas parcerias com outros fabricantes de colchões como Castor, Probel, Luckspuma, Paropas e Pierre Cardin. Diversificou suas atividade, também, oferecendo extensa linha de móveis residenciais. Objetivando expandir a empresa para melhor atender a demanda dos clientes, a Costa Rica abriu filiais em outras áreas do Rio de Janeiro e desta forma consolidou-se como um dos principais revendedores de colchões do Rio de Janeiro.

Since 1989 when Dialogica opened its first gallery in SoHo, New York, this modern and original furniture collection has earned the respect of designers and architects as well as received a enthusiastic reception from the press and public for its design excellence and innovation. In the same year, the company opened its own furniture manufacturing atelier. Dialogica's design and artistic direction is by Monique and Sergio Savarese. Metropolitan Home declared them the "leaders of a new design generation...showing the world how romantic modern furniture can be". The inspirations for their designs come from dreams, historical reference, travels and diverse cultural backgrounds to provide furniture that avoids trends. For the past century, the Bielecky Family has set the standard of handcrafting the finest quality Rattan, Cane and Wicker furniture in America. In 1903, Andrew and Conrad Bielecky, emigrated from Poland to New York and set up a small shop, weaving wicker chairs. In the 1920's Bielecky Brothers were one of the first to align themselves with the emerging interior design profession, creating an eclectic variety of custom made furniture fir individual decorators. During the 1930's and 1940's when wicker was relegated to the back porch, the company survived by maintaining quality in production and finishing. At the "American Home Decorating Show" in 1951. the Bielecky exhibit attracted numerous designers including Billy Baldwin who created an elegant collection of "wrapped cane" furniture for the company. In 1979, Angelo Designs, -functionally as well as physically. At the time, Mr. Donghia found he could adapt and restyle these designs for Ralph Lauren's new home, creating a new line of Rattan furniture for Bielecky.

In August 1893, John Willis, Jr. opened his first furniture store on Church Street, opposite St. Paul's church in downtown Norfolk. In 1901, he moved to the comer of Main and Church Streets in Norfolk in the Purcell Building that had been a hotel at one time. In 1912, he was the first occupant of the Mastin Building, later to become Smith and Welton Department Store.
